Virat Kohli can create history in South Africa test series: The current record of scoring most runs in the Test series between India and South Africa is in the name of great player Sachin Tendulkar. However, Kohli is set to overtake both Sehwag and Dravid, who is currently placed seventh with 1236 runs in 14 matches, including three centuries and four half-centuries.
Dravid, sitting at sixth position, has scored 1252 runs in 21 matches, while Sehwag is at fifth position with 1306 runs in 15 matches. Kohli needs only 71 runs in the upcoming two-match series to rewrite the record books.
Sitting at the top of the leaderboard is former South African player Jacques Kallis, who has scored 1734 runs in 18 matches, which includes seven centuries and five half-centuries. The first Test match will be played in Centurion from 26 to 30 December, followed by the second match in Cape Town from 3 January.
Earlier, India had won the three-match ODI series 2-1, while the T20 series ended in a 1-1 draw. With Kohli’s imminent return to the cricket field, all eyes are eagerly awaiting his batting as he attempts to carve his name in history against South Africa.
