The final match of the Under 19 World Cup is scheduled for Sunday (February 11). The Indian team has already secured a place in the finals and will be facing Australia in Benoni. Australia secured its spot in the title match by defeating Pakistan by one wicket in the second semi-final.
This marks Australia’s sixth appearance in the final, having previously clinched the title thrice. The upcoming final between India and Australia will be the third encounter between the two teams in the championship. India emerged victorious in 2012 and 2018. Currently, India holds a total of five Under-19 World Cup titles.
In the preceding match, after winning the toss, the Australian team opted to bowl first. They successfully bowled out Pakistan for 179 runs in 48.5 overs. Azaan Avesh and Arafat Minhas top-scored for Pakistan with 52 runs each.
Besides them, only opener Shamyal Hussain managed to reach double figures, scoring 17 runs before getting dismissed. Tom Starker was the star bowler for Australia, claiming six wickets. In response, Australia chased down the target, scoring 181 runs for nine wickets in 49.1 overs.

Under 19 World Cup: Speaking of Australia, opener Harry Dixon achieved the highest score with 50 runs. Oliver PK faced the unfortunate fate of not reaching a half-century, being dismissed after scoring 49 runs. In addition to these two, Tom Campbell contributed 25 runs to the team’s total.
Ali Raza was the most successful bowler for Pakistan, claiming four wickets for 34 runs in his 10 overs. Arafat Minhas had two successful dismissals, while Naveed Ahmed Khan and Ubaid Shah each took one wicket.

Under 19 World Cup: At one point, Australia found themselves at 155 runs with the loss of seven wickets. Following the dismissal of Oliver PK, the Kangaroo team faced the prospect of losing the match. However, the lower-order batsmen exhibited resilience, standing up to Pakistan’s bowling attack.
Tom Starker, in partnership with Rafe McMillan, guided the score to 164 runs. Starker was eventually dismissed after scoring three runs, caught by Ali Raza and caught by wicketkeeper Saad Baig.
