India vs South Africa: On Tuesday, the second match of the three-game ODI series between India and South Africa saw the African team securing a resounding victory, winning by eight wickets. This win leveled the series at 1-1. Aiden Markram, captain of South Africa, won the toss and opted to bowl first at St George’s Park in Gqberah. Despite their efforts, the Indian team was restricted to 211 runs in 46.2 overs.
South Africa successfully chased down the target of 212 runs, losing only two wickets, courtesy of Tony DeGeorge’s century, thereby drawing the series level.

India, batting first, managed 211 runs before losing all their wickets in 46.2 overs. In response, South Africa chased down the target, reaching 215 runs in 42.3 overs, securing the win with two wickets down.
Tony DeGeorge showcased exceptional batting prowess with an unbeaten 119 runs, supported by Reeza Hendricks with 52 runs and Rassie van der Dussen with 36 runs. Nandre Berger led South Africa’s bowling attack, claiming three crucial wickets. Hendricks and Keshav Maharaj secured two wickets each, while Williams-Markram took one.
For India, Sai Sudarshan contributed 62 runs, and captain Rahul added 56 runs, but apart from their efforts, no other Indian batsman made a significant impact. Consequently, Team India couldn’t complete their allotted 50 overs.
Arshdeep Singh managed to take a wicket with the ball, and Rinku Singh secured the wicket of Dusen just before the match concluded. Now, Team India aims to clinch the series victory by winning the upcoming third match.
Tony DeGeorge scored a century
India vs South Africa: Tony DeGeorge achieved a milestone by scoring his maiden ODI century in just 109 balls. His remarkable innings significantly propelled the South African team towards victory.
He formed a superb half-century partnership with Dussen, playing a pivotal role in steering the team towards success. De Zorzi showcased brilliance throughout, notching an impressive 119 runs off 122 balls and remained unbeaten till the end of the innings.
