This tournament has been contested by 20 teams and is to be played in 3 phases. The 20 teams participating in the World Cup have been divided into 4 groups of 5 each. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 stage.
Subsequently, all 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 4 teams each. In the Super 8 phase, the top two teams from both groups will progress to the semi-finals. Only two teams among them will secure a spot in the title-deciding match of the tournament.
