Syria vs India: On Tuesday, January 23, the Indian football team suffered a setback in the AFC Asian Cup when it lost its third and final group-stage match against Syria by a score of 1–0. Unfortunately, this defeat ended India’s journey in the tournament, as they finished bottom fourth in Group B. The team failed to achieve a single win in the competition. Omar Kharibin scored the only goal of the match for Syria.
To progress in the tournament, India needed a decisive win against Syria, a team ranked 91st globally. A draw or defeat would have resulted in India, ranked 102nd, being eliminated from the competition.
Sadly, the expected result came true and Team India lost the important match. What was disappointing for the fans was that the team could not find the back of the net throughout the tournament.

In this tournament, Syria played a 0–0 draw against Uzbekistan and lost 0–1 to Australia. In contrast, they emerged victorious against India with a score of 1–0.
On the other hand, the Indian team lost 2-0 against Australia and 3-0 against Uzbekistan in their opening matches. There was another defeat in the final match, this time the Indian team had to face defeat against Syria.
