WPL 2024 League schedule: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the schedule for the Women’s Premier League 2024 (WPL 2024), which is set to take place from February 23 to March 17.
Unlike the previous edition held in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, this year’s tournament will be hosted in Bengaluru and Delhi, with matches scheduled at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The league features five teams competing in 22 matches over a span of 24 days.
WPL 2024 League schedule released
The opening match in Bengaluru will witness defending champions Mumbai Indians facing off against Delhi Capitals. Last year, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Mumbai Indians emerged as champions by defeating Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals in the final.
The initial 11 matches are slated for Bengaluru, after which all five teams will move to Delhi. The league stage will consist of 20 matches, followed by an eliminator and the final. The team finishing at the top of the league stage will secure a direct spot in the finals.
Meanwhile, the second and third-placed teams will vie in the eliminator. Notably, the tournament will feature a single match each day, and the eliminator and final are scheduled for March 15 and March 17, respectively, in Delhi.
The five teams for WPL are as follows-
Delhi Capitals (DC)
UP Warriors (UPW)
Gujarat Giants (GG)
Mumbai Indians (MI)
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
