Batting first, India set a challenging target of 399 runs for England. In reply, the second innings of the English team ended at 292 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s remarkable double century contributed to India’s first innings total of 396 runs, leading to a lead of 143 runs as England managed to score 253 runs in their first innings.
On the basis of this lead, Team India scored 255 runs in its second innings, in which Shubman Gill’s century was notable. Setting a target of 399 runs for England, India successfully won the match by bowling out the English team for 292 runs.
