Hockey WorldCup 2023
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has conducted a draw of lots ceremony to determine the groups for the Hockey World Cup 2023. The event will take place in Bhubaneswar and Ranchi in India between 13th-29th January 2023. This will be the first-ever event, wherein teams will play their two opening matches in two different sub-hosts – Bhubaneswar and Rajarhat (Ranchi). The top four ranked teams from the 2018 edition that were held at Bhubaneswar (India) will be placed in Group A whereas the rest of the teams will be in Group B.
Rounding out the list is the United States, which finished in the top 5 in 2018 and will look to improve on that showing this year. However, they’ll have their work cut out for them as they’ll participate in a very challenging Group B with Canada, Germany, Slovakia, and South Korea.
