Kartikya’s love and passion for cricket was such that for nine years he stayed away from his home in a tin-shed room in Delhi and practiced only there. Kumar Kartikeya’s father Shyamnath Singh and lived in Sanigwan village, his father was currently present in Jhansi Police as Head Constable. Mother Sunita Singh is a housewife. Father told that Kartikeya started the year 2012 from PAC Nursery.
Learned ABCD of cricket in 2013 under the supervision of Shashikant Khandekar at Kamla Club. In 2015, Kartikeya moved to Delhi and practiced spin at the Delhi Stadium under Gautam Gambhir’s coach S Bhardwaj in Delhi and learned spin bowling from there.
Kumar Kartikeya lived in a tin shed room
Due to the poor economic condition of Kartikeya, he lived in the finished room in the stadium and used to practice only there. Even after three years, Kartikeya did not get a chance in the Delhi Ranji team, then he went to Madhya Pradesh. And here he was selected for the Ranji team. Kumar Kartikeya is originally from Sultanpur.
No one bought anyone in the auction in IPL last year
Kumar Kartikeya’s brother Kumar Vinayak Singh told that Sachin Tendulkar has also praised Kumar Kartikeya’s bowling and said that keep working hard, you will play in the IPL. When IPL 2021 IPL auction happened, no one bought Kartikeya. And then his luck changed and he and Mumbai Indians bought him for the base price of 20 lakhs.
Has taken five wickets in four matches
And till now Kumar Kartikeya has played 4 matches out of which he has taken 5 wickets. And the people of Kanpur are wishing him success and supporting him. Apart from Kumar Karthik, Kumar Karthik is the fourth player after Kuldeep Yadav, Ankit Rajput, and Upendra Yadav from Kanpur City to appear in the IPL.
